Beebom 2.0: This Is Our New Identity

Welcome to a new era of Beebom! Ten years after we started the journey of delivering the hottest news, detailed guides and high-quality videos, we decided it was time to level up. And Beebom, as you know it, is changing today.

Sequels can be risky, I know, but this ain’t Hollywood (even though we cover it extensively), and we are not James Cameron. Instead, we have our own saying about sequels: take risks, and with the right guidance, version 2 is usually better. With that, let me introduce the new Beebom. We have a vibrant new logo, a revamped website and a pop of color that makes me happy every time I see it.

But it’s not as easy as woohoo! we have a new logo. It is the culmination of a decade-long journey, one that Beebom’s co-founders Devinder Maheshwari and Kapil Jindal began in 2011. So let’s take a trip down memory lane.

Beebom: a decade-long evolution

Beebom wasn’t always called Beebom, you know! Our journey started as thetecnica when two college roommates discovered their love for tech blogging. So Kapil and Devinder went to work and created a brand new WordPress blog in just 68 days. Then they scribbled the words ‘thetecnica headquarters‘ on their dorm room door and got to work.

But the entrepreneurial life is not easy, my friend! Like any start-up, thetecnica had its fair share of ups and downs over the next two years, as both of our co-founders graduated and took jobs they weren’t too happy with. Finally, in 2013, Kapil and Devinder decided to give it their all. So they moved from Ahmedabad to Delhi and renamed the thetecnica to Beebom. But they were missing one big thing: an identity that represented their new ambition.

And that’s when they turned to the best free resource they had: their roommate, who created a simple design black and white logo that has been Beebom’s identity ever since. That no-nonsense logo has been with us for 10 years.

However, with the evolving online landscape developing and Beebom expanding into new content categories such as gaming and entertainment, we knew it was time for a change. Like Naruto, it was time for us to follow Master Jiraiya to level up and become a better ninja, so to speak. That’s why we started discussing the idea of ​​a rebrand about two years ago. Countless meetings, Zoom calls, and messages later, we finally had a plan, a direction, which we put into action earlier this year.

We wanted Beebom’s new identity to reflect everything we stand for: bold, creative and full of life. We wanted to create a brand design that reflected who we are as ‘makers’ in a much better way – all without forgetting our core values ​​while embracing new ones. The new Beebom logo does just that.

Our designers used the concept of Verve (which means spirit or enthusiasm) to design our new identity. The new Beebom logo is modern, vibrant and has a free flowing design that gives a feeling of limitlessness, something that all of us at Beebom believe in!

The custom freehand typography Combined with the gradient palette, the logo further gives a versatile look, one that can evolve over time. I mean, the B looks like a heart to me, and the “reflects our love for technology”, which reminds us why we are here and why we started it all.

This playful and fresh new logo also made that possible redesign the Beebom website in a meaningful way. It not only adds a touch of color to our previous black and white design, but also brings many new features, such as trending tags, colorful sidebars, quick summaries and engaging and sharp information blocks, to improve the quality of the content and to help us better engage with our community.

Our updated color palette allows us to present content clearly and concisely while highlighting key points for our valued readers. Every link you hover over shines in the colors of our badge and is a feast for the eyes. We even updated the fonts on the Beebom website and moved to the Font ‘Work Sans’ for our content, and I love it. There’s so much more in store, so explore our brand new website and tell us what you think.

What does the future hold for Beebom?
