Discord App for Android & iOS Gets Major Overhaul

Discord, whether on web or mobile, has consistently remained one of the most popular gaming and community platforms. However, many gamers have used it on the latter to keep their party chats on hand. It looks like the mobile experience is about to get even better, as the Discord app has undergone a major overhaul that brings together packed with changes.

The latest update to the Discord mobile app, which was announced and unveiled very recently, brings with it many long-awaited features. Plus, it has a brand new look, UI optimizations, improved search, and more. After all these years (first released in 2015) the time has finally come become good.

One of the biggest changes in Discord is that the user environment has been updated for several aspects of the mobile app. The app is now divided into multiple tabs to conveniently keep track of servers, messages, notifications, and profiles.

There is one now new voice and videoand the user interface here is now much better, focusing on ‘make the space more cozy for you and your friends.’ The ‘Now active‘ section has been moved to the top to show you what your friends are currently doing.

Search will also get better with the new Discord app update as it will now be lightning fast. Now users can search for their ‘User messages‘ & ‘Server messages‘ independently, with the new UI separating the two into different tabs.

Discord for mobile talks more about the improved search features and makes the improved search feature an easier and faster process for finding people, links, media content, and any direct message you receive. Plus, Discord for mobile even lets you search in the Settings tab – so instead of searching the settings for what you need, you can search for it.

Discord also adds ‘Hello voice‘ messages to the mobile app. You can now tap and hold the button to continue recording, then release it to send instant voice messages to your Discord conversations. The media sharing aspects have also been improved.

You can send high quality images/videos (up to 25 MB) on Discord. Through this update even more media files can be selected at once than was previously allowed.

Discord for mobile is now also faster. This revision causes the app to open 55% less for Android And 43% less for iOS. The stability is now also much better. Message caching refers to the number of messages stored on your device. With the new update this has evolved to now support up to 700 messages.

Overall, the mobile app has received a very major update; To be honest, this has been a long time coming. At some point it felt like the developers were ignoring the mobile version of their application. The new Discord app is rolling out for iOS and Android devices and you should receive it soon.
