Fortnite owes its appeal to its ever-changing world. However, many players are looking forward to the upcoming OG updates that will arrive in the latest Chapter 4 of Season 5. These will add a touch of throwback to the past. This was when the game suddenly changed from a survival shooter to a battle royale. The new event aims to do two things. Firstly, it aims to be a nostalgic experience for the players who have been playing the title since launch. Hence OGs, as the name suggests. Secondly, it plans to show the newer players what the island looked like before all the different events took place.
While we have the release date for the event, Epic Games has not shared the release times for Fortnite’s OG update. Don’t worry though, because we’ve got you covered. Keep reading to find out the release date and time of the next major update in the game based on previous release times.
When will the Fortnite update be released?
While Fortnite has already confirmed that the new update for Chapter 4, Season 5 is coming out November 3, 2023, they haven’t revealed its release time. The main menu is already prepared to end the current season with a blank menu screen. As such, we know it’s happening, but not when.
Based on previous release times, we know that Fortnite will go into maintenance mode right before the new seasons. It usually happens around 3am ET. During this time the servers go down and it usually takes about four hours for the game to go live with the new season. Taking the earlier launch times into account, Fortnite OG should start maintenance around these times:
Region | Time |
---|---|
Western US | 1 hour PDT |
Central US | 3 hours CST |
United Kingdom | 8:00 GMT |
Tokyo | 5:00 PM JST |
India | 1:00 PM IST |
Keep in mind that these are educated guesses, but the exact timing of the OG update may vary depending on how it actually rolls out. Still, it’s good to have an idea of when to expect it.
What can you experience during the upcoming Fortnite event
According to the numerous teasers, leaks and new teaser trailer, we have a rough idea of what Fortnite OG will be about. Rumor has it that the new update in Chapter 4, Season 5 will be a month-long celebration. It will be a… discard event where Fortnite’s original map will return. This will also see the classic hot zones such as the famous Tilted Towers make their comeback.
The map is the 2018 version of the game and according to more leaks, the map will constantly rotate and change throughout the month. Additionally, numerous reputable Fortnite leakers and dataminers have confirmed that the new season will have a new battle pass. However, according to a leakthis will be, as we said, a month-long event, and not the usual three-month season.
Additionally, as seen in the trailer, weapons like LMG and rideable vehicles like hoverboards will no longer be vaulted for this event. Even OG weapons like pump guns and hand cannons are making a comeback.
So, are you excited about the return of the original map? What are your plans for the first few days in the game? Let us know in the comments below.
