When we talk about mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, how can we forget a mutant in the Spider-Man universe? Madame Web is a mutant who is essentially that Professor but in the Spider-Man universe. Sony had plans to make films around characters like Black Cat, but these plans were scrapped after the disappointing performance of The Amazing Spider-Man, and films like Morbius and Venom were introduced.
Now Madame Web is set in the same universe, but will it act as a convergence point for the previous films? I guess we’ll find out. For now, here’s everything we know about this upcoming Spider-verse movie.
Release date Madame Web
Marvel seems to have since learned its lesson from Deadpool’s 2016 theatrical release February 16, 2024 has been set as the official release date for the Madame Web movie.
Deadpool became a big hit in part due to its Valentine’s Day release with almost no competition. Madame Web took the same approach, taking into account the uniqueness of the character and her relationship to that of Andrew Garfield Spider-Man universe, it seems that Madame Web could also become a hit film.
Madame Webcast
One of the main highlights of the Madame Web movie is the cast it features. However, it’s no surprise considering the fact that the film is being directed by SJ Clarkson, who has helmed Marvel shows like Jessica Jones and The Defenders.
Speaking of direction, how can we leverage the talents of Matt Sazama and Burk Sharplessthe two men responsible for writing the screenplay of Venom as well as the ones to come Kraven the Hunter film for Sony? And now they are going to write the screenplay for Madame Web. however, the cast of Madame Web contains some well-known and popular faces, namely:
- Dakota Johnson – Mrs. Web
- Sydney Sweeny – Julia Timmerman (speculated)
- Isabela Merced – Anya Corazon (speculated)
- Emma Roberts – Maria Parker (speculated)
- Celeste O’Connor – Mattie Franklin (speculated)
- Adam Scott – Ben Parker (speculated)
- Tahar Rahim – Alternate Spider-Man (speculated)
Madame Web plot

As far as we know, Madame Web revolves around the origin story of this superhero. According to her comic book origins, Cassandra Webb, aka Madame Web, was born blind and also suffers from a condition called myasthenia gravis, a neuromuscular autoimmune disease. She made her first appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man #210 and is now all set to make her first theatrical appearance.
While undergoing treatment, her mutation takes effect and she develops psychic powers and spider-like abilities. But her illness remains with her and so it is connected to a life support system that looks like a spider web. In her first comic book appearance, she helped Spider-Man find a girl who had been kidnapped.
However, this movie is set long before Peter Parker’s birth, so it’s hard to say if we’ll see Spider-Man in action in the Madame Web movie. However, if it turns out to be some kind of flashback movie, there’s a possibility we could see Spider-Man. So the chance of that happening is quite small.
No matter how good this movie ends up being, let’s hope they don’t make the same mistakes as Mobius and present us with another movie worth remembering. Until then, all we can do is wait for the film’s official release on February 16, 2024, and hope for the best.
Will we see Spider-Man in Madame Web?
Since the announcement of Madame Web, there has been speculation about Spider-Man’s appearance in this film. To add more excitement to the already floating rumor, Adam Scott and Tahar Rahim have been spotted on the sets of Madame Web in Spider-man-esque outfits.
Scott has been spotted wearing an outfit similar to what the adult Spider-Man wears. This could simply be because he’s likely to play Uncle Ben, or perhaps an alternate version of our friendly neighborhood spider.
In addition, photos of Tahar Rahim have been seen wearing a suit that closely resembles Spider-Man’s. Now he can be another superhero, but since this movie is set in the Spiderverse, he can play the role of an alternate Spider-Man. We don’t know for sure yet, but if that happens, the crowd will go crazy.
As of now, all we can say is that this movie is pretty hyped among Marvel fans, and let’s hope Sony doesn’t screw this one up and gives us a movie to remember. Until then, let’s wait for this movie to come out. In the meantime, we will provide you with the latest updates!
