Nintendo Announces ‘Legend of Zelda’ Live Action Movie

Nintendo jumped into the film industry with the Super Mario movie, which turned out to be a huge hit. After his success, now Nintendo looks forward to bringing some of its other big titles to life, starting with the evergreen franchise of Legend of Zelda. In the official announcement postNintendo has revealed that the film will be directed by Wes Ball, who previously showcased his talents in films like The Maze Runner Trilogy And Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. The Legend of Zelda film is produced by creator Shigeru Miyamoto, who also worked with Avi Arad Super Mario Bros.

In a statement on Twitter, Mayamoto said: “This is Miyamoto. I have been working on the live-action film of The Legend of Zelda for many years with Avi Arad-san, who has produced many mega-hit films.” Because this movie is still in the writing stages and hasn’t even gone into production yet. It may take a while before it hits our screens. In his statement, Mayamoto also added, “It will take some time to complete, but I hope you are looking forward to it.” In response I would like to say: you’re damn right, Mr. Mayamoto, we’re looking forward to it.

There isn’t much information available about the storyline or cast of the upcoming Legend of Zelda movie, but what we do know is that production will be co-financed by Sony. However, more than fifty percent of the total cost of this film will be covered by Nintendo alone. This announcement from Nintendo could be a serious turning point as it makes it clear that Nintendo is looking forward to moving further into the entertainment industry and I’m really looking forward to that as they continue to bring us films like Super Mario Bros.
