Numerous rumors and official details have finally led to the launch of the OnePlus 10 Pro in China, the company’s latest flagship and one of the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 phones to hit the market. The OnePlus 10 Pro is the successor to last year’s OnePlus 9 Pro and features an impressive array of design and hardware upgrades. Here’s an overview of all the new features and specifications of OnePlus’ latest flagship.
OnePlus 10 Pro: specifications and features
Let’s start with the design. The new OnePlus 10 Pro, as revealed previously, it moves away from the vertical camera bumps on the back to include a huge square-shaped camera much like the one on the Galaxy S21 Ultra. The camera bump houses three cameras that have a 3D ceramic lens cap. The back panel has the third-generation silk glass technology, which should help keep fingerprints and smudges away from your smartphone. In the front there is a perforated screen in the middle.
The 6.7-inch QHD+ flexible curved screen is AMOLED in nature and supports “True LTPO 2.0” and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display also supports AOD functionality, a peak brightness of 1300 nits and a layer of Gorilla Glass Victus for protection against accidental drops and wear. The phone also supports O-Haptics and X-axis linear motor.
As previously confirmed, the OnePlus 10 Pro will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Mobile Platform from Qualcomm. It will de xiaomi 12 series, the Realme GT 2 Pro, the Moto Edge X30, and other flagship smartphones to hit the market in 2022.
Coming to the cameras, OnePlus continues his collaboration with Hasselblad. on, which started with the OnePlus 9 phones. The phone gets three cameras on the back: a 48MP main camera with a custom Sony IMX789 sensor and support for OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide camera with support for a 150-degree field of view (like GT 2 Pro) and standard 110-degree FoV, and an 8MP telephoto lens with OIS and 3.3x optical zoom. The front camera is at 32MP. There is also a two-tone LED flash for temperature in the square camera module on the back.
The Hasselblad partnership leads to support for features such as: 12-bit RAW photos using the second generation Hasselblad Pro mode. The phone gets an improved natural color calibration (launched with the OnePlus 9 Pro), a Fisheye mode (same as the iQOO 9 and Realme GT 2 Pro), and the OnePlus Billion Color Solution for 10-bit color photography. It also supports 8K videos and 4K videos at 120 fps, and Movie mode to adjust shutter speed, ISO and more during or before video capture and the LOG format for easy editing, better dynamic range, and more.
The OnePlus 10 Pro also includes a 5,000 mAh battery with 80 W wired Super Flash Charge (a first for OnePlus and a departure from the Warp Charging days) and 50W wireless charging. it rents ColorOS 12.1 based on Android 12. The skin offers features such as self-flowing engine 2.1, better fluidity, free-floating window, cross-screen interconnection, smart sidebar, translate function, and more.
In addition, the 10 Pro includes 5G, dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, NFC, an in-display fingerprint scanner, HyperBoost mode for enhanced gaming, and comes in two colors: Volcanic Black and Emerald Forest.
Price and availability
The OnePlus 10 Pro comes in three RAM+storage configurations and will go on sale in China from January 13. These are the prices:
- 8GB + 128GB: CNY 4,699 (about Rs 54,500)
- 8GB+256GB: CNY 4,999 (about Rs 57,900)
- 12GB+256GB: CNY 5,299 (about Rs 61,400)
OnePlus also has the OnePlus Buds Pro Mithril Special Edition with a unique ultra-bright metal texture and smart dual-device function for easy pairing with a phone and a computer. You also have the option to easily switch between the two devices. Other features remain the same as the original OnePlus Buds Pro. The new version costs CNY 799 (approximately Rs 9,200) and is up for grabs in China, starting today at CNY 699 (approximately Rs 8,100).
However, the company has not launched the vanilla OnePlus 10, and it remains to be seen if that will happen. In addition, there is no word on when the new OnePlus 10 Pro will hit the Indian shores. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we have more information about this!
