Qualcomm took its automotive technology initiative a step further at CES 2022 by announcing several new features for its Digital Chassis platform for cars. The company unveiled new solutions for automakers to integrate advanced in-car technology into future cars, including a digital cockpit, driver assistance and autonomy, and several other cloud-connected features. Qualcomm Snapdragon Digital Automotive Chassis
The Qualcomm Snapdragon Digital Chassis platform is primarily a set of cloud-connected platforms to enable automakers to integrate various customizable features into their next-gen vehicles. Automakers can choose from a range of new features that fit into their cars to provide a fully customizable experience for consumers of future vehicles.
For example, the Snapdragon Digital Chassis platform includes the Snapdragon Ride platform that helps improve automated and assisted driving functions in cars. Another feature is the Snapdragon Cockpit platform that allows automakers to multi-screen setup, multiple cameras in the interior of cars. It can also support high-end audio and video. It could further improve the overall in-car experience for both drivers and passengers in the future.
Apart from this, the Digital Chassis platform also includes the Snapdragon Auto Connectivity platform which allows: cars to connect to various other devices and cloud servers using Wi-Fi, 5G networks, LTE and Bluetooth. It allows automakers to deliver new features and services to customers through cloud connections and OTA updates.
