Snapchat for iOS has received a new update, the first of 2022, and it brings with it a slew of features, most notably messaging features for users. You can now reply to individual messages, send Bitmoji responses, and much more. This is what all updates mean.

New Snapchat for iOS Update Released

Starting with Chat Replies, you can now: replying to specific messages on Snapchat, just like you can on WhatsApp. To do this, you can long-press on the message and select the Reply Chat option to reply or swipe left on a message to reply to it.

Then you can now reply to a message in a Snapchat chat with Bitmoji comments. For this, you have to long-press on the message to see a row of Bitmoji emoticons and choose the one you like. It works similarly to how you can reply to messages on Facebook Messenger, Instagram and even Twitter. Except, the ones on Snapchat have their unique identities and aren’t simple emoji reactions (if you’ve created your Bitmoji).

Snapchat, in an official press comment, say, “To kick off the new year, we’ve added a slew of new features to Snapchat posts that make chatting with your real-life friends more fun and expressive.

Snapchat also has got the option to run polls on iOS. Just like the poll sticker on Instagram, you can now add different kinds of poll stickers to Snap Stories to know people’s opinions. This feature works for both iOS and Android users. When you post a poll, you can see who voted for what. The Poll sticker is now available under the Sticker section once you’ve taken a Snap on the app.

Finally, the ephemeral messaging app has: improved voice and video calling to make conversations more enjoyable with an improved interface and the easy ability to add lenses. It also shows you people who have previously joined the conversation.

These new Snapchat features have started rolling out and will be reaching all iOS users soon. All of these new features are likely to reach Android users soon.
