The Marvels is set for release on November 11, 2023, and anticipation for this film is at an all-time high. Honestly, the trailers already tell us that the cinematography of The miracles, combined with the VFX, will be amazing. And when we talk about the plot of the movie, it seems to be a fairly simple superhero storyline with a slightly different approach, making it an interesting movie to watch overall. The three female leads come from absolutely different timelines and yet come together to face the problem of their intertwined powers as a team, which is a pretty interesting concept in itself. The highlight of The Marvels film is its cast, which brings together three much-admired superheroes. So, let’s find out more about all the cast members of The Marvel in this article!
1. Brie Larson (Captain Marvel)
Brie Larson will play the lead role of Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, who will be the leader of the cast of The Marvels. She made her debut as Captain Marvel, one of the most powerful Avengers, in the year 2019 as the protagonist of her standalone film. Since then, she has made several appearances as Captain Marvel in certain Avengers films.
Although it’s been a while since we’ve seen her as Captain Marvel in a movie that revolves around her, making her return as exciting as possible.
2. Teyonah Parris (Monica Rambeau)
Teyonah Parris will appear in the film as Monica Rambeau. She is another member of the cast of The Marvels, playing a main character who has the same cosmic powers as Captain Marvel. This is the first time we will see Rambeau at her full potential as she fights alongside Captain Marvel.
She made her debut in the 2019 Captain Marvel film and then made a cameo appearance in the Disney+ TV series Wanda Vision. For the first time, Monica Rambeau will play the lead role on screen. Pretty exciting!
3. Iman Vellani (Miss Marvel)
The final leading lady in the cast of The Marvels will be Iman Vellani reprising her role as Ms. Marvel. She previously made her debut in the MCU as Ms. Marvel in her standalone Disney Plus series. The series became very popular and achieved a Rotten Tomatoes score of 98%.
Throughout the series, there were certain teases for Captain Marvel’s appearance. However, she only appeared in the series in the last few minutes and gave us a teaser for The Marvels, confirming Vellani’s appearance in this film.
4. Zawe Ashton (Darr-Benn)
Zawe Ashton will join the cast as the film’s main villain. She will play the role of a rogue Kree general, who in the comics was responsible for causing the war between the Kree and the Skrulls. However, in the comics, Dar-Benn was a man, but here it becomes a female actress. I don’t know why Marvel is taking a detour from the comics, but let’s wait and see what emerges.
5. Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury)
After Secret invasionSamuel L Jackson returns as Nick Fury to the cast of The Marvels. We will see Nick Fury on board SABER space station as his commander. He will play a supporting role in our leading ladies’ quest, trying to figure out what is happening to them, while at the same time facing an imminent threat. Samuel L. Jackson has been an integral part of the Marvel Universe since the very first film and continues to do so in this film.
6. Park Seo-Joon (Prince Yan)
Famed Korean actor Park Seo-Joon joins the cast of The Marvels and makes his entry into the MCU. As Prince Yan, he will play the role of the prince of the planet Aladna. In the comics, Aladna is a planet whose inhabitants wear colorful clothes and communicate through songs or something that rhymes.
The Marvels seem to have taken inspiration from the comic series Captain Marvel Part 8 #9. According to rumors, the team of our cosmic superheroes will end up on Aladana and have to communicate in songs.
7. Reggie (Goose the Cat)
The most adorable member of The Marvels cast is Reggie, a 12-year-old feline, who plays Goose the cat. It’s Captain Marvel’s pet Flerken who is too responsible for the loss of Nick Fury’s eye. While these creatures may look like Earth cats in the MCU, these Flerkens are actually extremely dangerous aliens that can consume entire people. In the comics, Goose once swallowed the Tesseract cube and stored it in his stomach for safekeeping.
