WhatsApp Profile Pictures Notifications

Popular WhatsApp tipster WaBetaInfo first saw WhatsApp testing profile pictures in notifications, and they’re already appearing for select iOS beta testers. This functionality will show a person’s profile picture in notifications when that person sends a message. You will see DPs in notifications for both individual and group WhatsApp chats, making it easier to distinguish between the senders.

This feature is similar to how Twitter shows the profile picture of a person who is messaging or responding to a tweet. Even Snapchat has similar functionality and displays the users’ Bitmoji in notifications. One thing worth mentioning is that not all iOS beta users will be able to see this and WhatsApp will be making it available to everyone soon. It is expected to reach non-beta and even Android users soon.

For those who don’t know, WhatsApp is also expected to introduce soon a renewed Contact Info page for both Android and iOS users, which looks similar to how contact information is displayed in iOS’s native contacts section. Users are also expected to be able to search for nearby businesses such as retail stores, salons, and more.

However, it remains unknown when and if these features will make their way to WhatsApp. Considering the new year is here, it could be happening soon. If this is the case, we will provide you with all the details. So stay tuned!
