YouTube is often seen testing new features and the recent ones are mainly related to AI. The video streaming platform recently experimented with the ability to summarize videos using AI and now here is a new test, which can summarize comments using AI. Here are the details.
The new experimental YouTube feature summarizes and organizes the published comments section (usually with many comments) based on topics where AI is used. This gives people easy access to the comments they’re looking for and makes it much easier for the video creator to manage the comments they receive.
AI-powered comment summarization is currently available to select Premium users Android and iOS. If you’re a YouTube Premium user, you can check the Premium benefits section below your username to see if this feature is available for a trial period.
If so, tap the ‘try it‘ option to start. You can go to the comments section of any video and select the three-dot menu to sort the comments by topic. Although I was able to find the feature I needed to choose, the option to sort the comments by topic did not appear at the time of writing.
Another feature YouTube is testing is a ‘To ask‘ choice for videos, using AI to answer questions related to the video. This option is available for some users on select English videos. It is also part of YouTube Premium, but only on Android.
We still don’t know when or if YouTube will release the aforementioned features to everyone. We will keep you informed when this happens, so keep an eye on this page. And what do you think of the new AI features that YouTube is testing? Share it with us in the comments below.
