Yu Yu Hakusho Live Action Gets New Trailer; Releasing on December 14

The great success of the One Piece Live-Action Series paved the way for other popular manga and anime to get their own live-action adaptations. As such, it was confirmed that Yoshihiro Togashi’s critically acclaimed manga Yu Yu Hakusho would be getting a live-action show on Netflix earlier this year. Now fast forward to the end of 2023 and we’ve received a stunning trailer in anticipation of its release. Read on to learn more about the Yu Yu Hakusho live-action series and find out when you can stream it on Netflix.

Yu Yu Hakusho live-action release date

Netflix shared a glimpse of this live-action last month, making us eagerly await the release of a full-fledged trailer and the release of the TV show. And that day has finally arrived, because today the Netflix staff has shared another glorious trailer full of action and demons.

Additionally, Netflix confirmed in a press release that the official release date for the live-action is Yu Yu Hakusho December 14, 2023. This means that all five episodes will be available to stream on the aforementioned date. That said, here’s the gorgeous new trailer:

The trailer looks absolutely incredible, even though the source material has been compressed into a five-episode TV show. But this happens with all kinds of live-action, because condensation seems to be the only option to make it suitable for this medium. Nevertheless, the action scenes look dope with the surprisingly good visual effects. It seems that Netflix wants to create a new standard for live-action according to the One Piece live-action strategy.

Legendary mangaka (author) Togashi recently spoke about the ending of Hunter x Hunter, his most popular work, in a variety show. He also expressed his health issues and how they affect his work. Now I’m sure this live-action would have made him a little happier amid his ongoing health issues.

OG fans of the manga are well aware of the show’s storyline. However, if you’re new to it, here’s how:

Yusuke Urameshi was a tough teenage delinquent until a selfless act changed his life… by ending it. When he died saving a small child from a speeding car, the afterlife didn’t know what to do with him, so it gave him a second chance at life. Now Yusuke is a ghost on a mission: he performs good deeds on behalf of Botan, the spiritual guide of the dead, and Koenma, her pacifier-sucking boss from the “other side.” But what strange things await him on the border between life and death? – VIZ
