One of the most unexpected TV series to come out in 2022 was undoubtedly Halo on Paramount Plus. Halo is a video game that has always had a huge fan base around the world. From costume design to VFX and storytelling, the Halo TV series lived up to the fanbase and legacy of the video game.
Recently, out of the blue, Paramount Plus made a long-awaited announcement confirming the release date of Halo Season 2. February 8, 2024. We did know that Halo Season 2 had been in the works since late 2022, but details on this were pretty scarce. Now, Halo’s second season came not only as a surprise, but as something to look forward to in 2024.
In a press release by Paramount Plus, Tanya Giles, chief programming officer of Paramount Plus, stated that “HALO is an expansive, world-building opportunity for Paramount+, and we’re excited to give fans a second season to look forward to before we launch the series next month,” She also added that
“HALO will provide fans of the game and non-gamers alike with a thrilling ride as it combines stunning visuals with a deeper look at the personal stories behind these iconic characters, all set in an epic battle for the future of humanity. ”
In another statement in the same press release, David Nevins, the Chief Content Officer of scripted originals for Paramount Plus, stated: “HALO takes us into a dazzling world that we believe will captivate audiences as much with its thrilling visuals as its bold, character-driven storytelling. This second season pick-up reflects the confidence we have in the power of this epic series to draw in and captivate people. viewers. HALO has been a great partnership with Amblin and 343 Industries, and we are all grateful for the opportunity to continue it.”
Halo season 2 plot
Speaking of the possible plot for Halo Season 2, I’m pretty sure it will pick up exactly where it left us with a huge cliffhanger in Season 1. It looks like the location of the Halo ringworld has been revealed , and maybe we’ll get to see a live-action version of the first Halo game that hit the X Box in 2001.
If you remember, the game started with Materchief and a unit of soldiers crash-landing on the Halo ringworld. Season one of Halo may be a prequel to the events we saw in the 2001 Halo game, and now we may get to see the events of this epic, nostalgic game live. However, it’s just speculation, but we can be pretty sure that Halo Season 2 is going to be just as epic as the first season.
