The age-old battle between Android and iMessage users may finally be about to end. And we’re not talking about Nothing Chats. Beeper, the messaging app, has been released with Beeper Mini, finally bringing Apple’s iMessage experience to Android!
But how is it even possible? Well, at one blog post shared by the company, it is candid, direct and transparent about its technology – unlike the Sunbird & Nothing Chats app situation. The iMessage protocol has been reverse engineered by a security researcher known as “jjtech.
Beeper then used the research to bring iMessage to Android! With this, Beeper Mini brings an assortment of iMessage features to Android. This includes iMessage end-to-end encryption and native media shipping. According to the developers, the Bluebird app implements Apple’s encryption protocol on its own.
“We built Beeper Mini by analyzing the traffic sent between the native iMessage app and Apple’s servers, and by rebuilding our own app that sends the same requests and understands the same responses.” – Pieper developers
As complex as it sounds, using Beeper Mini is actually very simple. Start by taking it from tHe Google Play Store (visit). A very simple installation process takes over, which also requires you to log into your Google ID. However, you must sign up for one free 7 day trial before you can use it.
That’s all! Once you’ve set up your avatar, you’ll start using Apple’s iMessage platform on Android through the Beeper Mini app. Beeper promises that the app does not use any servers or additional devices, contrary to its intrinsic design other iMessage emulating applications.
Once the seven-day trial period ends, you will be required to pay $1.99 per month to continue using iMessage for Android via Beeper Mini. Personally, this is perfect if you really need iMessage and want to be part of those group conversations.

Beeper Mini could very well be the definitive answer to iMessage for Android. Not only does the app run on code that you can grab yourself, but the developers are generally super transparent about everything. Compared to Nothing Chats app, it is not only done in a better way but also with the same purpose (bring iMessage to Android) has been reached without involving additional Beeper Mini servers.
All we can hope is that Beeper Mini development continues to flourish. Additionally, Apple could create an issue that could result in problematic future availability.
