Does The Finals Have Crossplay Support?

Just like every other multiplayer game around the world, many are wondering whether the brand new shooter The Finals offers crossplay and cross-progression or not. After all, most popular multiplayer titles have added this as a basic feature. And a game of this nature will benefit greatly from this feature as it will increase the player base. So, if you have this question in mind and want to know whether The Finals has crossplay or not, read on.

Is there crossplay in the final?

To answer this question: yes, there is crossplay in the final, and like most other multiplayer games, it works the same way. Since the game is out on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, you can expect to be able to play with friends on those platforms with ease. And since this is an optional toggle under the settings, you can opt out of matchmaking with console players if you wish.

Crossplay of the final

Plus, The Finals lets you match with your friend who plays on a console. While we have a special guide how to invite friends to the finals and do that when crossplay is enabled, the process is simple. You make sure they are on your friends list and that your crossplay is enabled.

And yes, crossplay matchmaking works similarly to multiplayer titles like Call of Duty, Fortnite, and others. You will be paired with a mixed group of PC and console players and compete against them. Well, console players have a few advantages (ahem, aim assist) over PC players, but it’s nothing extremely unfair.

Is there cross-progression in the final?

Another big advantage of The Finals is that the game comes with cross-progression support. This means that when you don’t feel like sitting on your PC to play the game, you can head to the couch and still continue your journey in the game on your PlayStation or Xbox.

This is another welcome addition to The Finals in addition to crossplay.

Enable crossplay in the finals

Crossplay is enabled by default in The Finals. However, here are the steps to enable or disable the crossplay feature:

  • Click the gear icon at the top right of the screen to open the options menu.
Click on the settings cog
  • Once here, click on settings. Under the General settings, choose to enable or disable crossplay.
The crossplay option under the Settings tab

Turn the switch off if you don’t want to be matched with console players and want to fight strictly against PC players. This limits matchmaking against console players. However, keep in mind that you won’t be able to play with your console friends if you disable crossplay.
