After almost a year and a half of waiting, the teaser of House of the Dragon season 2 has finally been released. As expected, season 2 will showcase the brewing war between kin. For those who have forgotten, season 1 of House of the Dragon ended with the gruesome death of Lucerys Velaryon, daughter of Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) son. This is what we saw in the teaser for House of the Dragon season 2.
The House of the Dragon season 2 teaser begins with Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans) accepting that mistakes were made in the hours after King Viserys’ death. Princess Rhaenys Targaryen (Eve Best) warns Rhaenyra, saying, “There is no war so hateful to the gods as a war between kin – and no war so bloody as a war between dragons.”

The 60-second teaser also shows two massive dragons attacking each other in the great war between the two factions of House Targaryen.

House of the Dragon Season 2 Release Date
While the teaser doesn’t mention an official release date, House of the Dragon Season 2 is widely expected to premiere on HBO Max in the summer of 2024. Now that the first teaser has been released, we can expect the official release date to be around May or June 2024. Season 2 is also expected to have 10 episodes, similar to the first season.
