After a long wait, Realme has finally revealed the launch date of the flagship Realme GT 2 series. The company has announced that the Realme GT 2 series will be launched on January 4 in China and even global markets. The company has confirmed that it will be launching the Realme GT 2 Pro, one of the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 phones. The vanilla Realme GT 2 is also highly anticipated. Here’s what to expect.

While not much is known about the Realme GT 2, there are plenty of rumors and leaks surrounding the GT 2 Pro. The smartphone is expected to have a new Nexus 6P-esque design with a large protruding camera bump and a perforated screen (or possibly a selfie camera under the screen, according to leaks). Pastel shades for the device are in tow.

It will likely get a 6.8-inch QHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The GT 2 Pro is expected to come with support for up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage. As for the cameras, on the back you’ll find a triple camera setup. It includes a primary 50MP GR lens, a 50MP ultra-wide camera and an 8MP telephoto lens. The front camera could be at 32 MP.

The phone can get its fuel from a 4,500mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging, but there’s a chance it could be increased to 100W fast charging.

But we don’t just have rumours. There are also a few confirmed details. As mentioned before, the phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and it will have three technologies in the world. if announced at the recent December 20th special event, the Realme GT 2 Pros back cover will be made of bio-polymer material, designed by popular Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa and Realme Design Studio. This gives you a first-class feel in the hand, but is also an environmentally friendly initiative.

The phone will also be the first to get an ultra-wide camera with a 150-degree field of view. It is also expected to support a new Fisheye mode.
